Research Blog #7: Frame

Scott Carlson explains in "Spending Shifts as Colleges Compete on Students' Comfort"that there is an amenities race occurring between colleges but it is not something colleges are doing solely to enhance their image, but that in actuality “the growth in student services is certainly a sign of an intensifying competition among colleges. And even if the amenities, activities, and support cost many thousands of dollars per student, especially at elite institutions, they represent a college cost that students and their parents have asked for--either explicitly or through their decisions in enrollment” (Carlson, 272). Carlson has several quotes in his article that pertain to my research. He is definitely one of, if not, the biggest and most important sources I have found.
